Hi Friends!

This Fall & Winter, I will be teaching a 4 week session of Watercolor Techniques (beginning & intermediate) at Marnee’s Studio in Mobile, AL. Enjoy a morning of fun while learning the fundamentals of watercolor in a relaxing environment. We will cover the basic techniques including wet into wet, wet on dry, dry brush, masking, using mixed materials such as sea salt, paper towels and more. Consider taking if you are local and have ever considered experimenting with this medium. This class is also for those who have taken watercolor or would like to improve upon their skill level. We also have a drop in rate if you are interested in coming for 1 class.

The class will run on Wednesdays, October 17, 24, 31 & November 7.

Process

I thought I would share a little bit about my process today. When painting forest scenes, branches, pine needles etc., I like to use a #1 round brush and a liner brush. The round brush is great for creating varying sizes in the branches and I really like to use the liner brush for the spindly pine needles. They also work great when painting fur or whiskers.
