This September, I am teaching a new 4 week session of Watercolor Techniques at Marnee’s Studio in Mobile, AL. Enjoy a morning of fun while learning the fundamentals of watercolor in a relaxing environment. We will cover the basic techniques including wet into wet, wet on dry, dry brush, masking, using mixed materials such as sea salt, paper towels and more. Consider taking if you are local and have ever considered experimenting with this medium.
The class will run on Wednesdays, September 12, 19, 26 & October 3. We have a great group so far and you can still register or drop in for one class to try it out!
My Loggerhead Sea Turtle will be included in the 2017 Water|Ways H2Outstanding Art Exhibit at the 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center now through January 5 (closing reception).
“Water affects our lives, climate, agriculture, jobs, recreational time, culture, and has a direct impact on our art. Local artists of all ages will have the opportunity to enter a contest and showcase their work alongside the traveling Smithsonian Exhibit, Water/Ways.”
I feel so fortunate to be included in this show and have my work on display alongside work from the Smithsonian! The work of 165 artists will be on display within Delta Hall at 5 Rivers. They are open from 8am – 5pm seven days a week and admission is free.
See the links for directions to the facility and more information on the exhibit.
I have new representation! This piece was recently finished and dropped off at Marnee’s Studio, a new art space and gallery located at 2353 Airport Blvd in Mobile, AL. The Grand Opening Party is August 12 from 6-9 pm. “The event is FREE and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks and entertainment.” I will be live painting along with artist, Ian Glass. If you are local, please come to the opening and support this space! If not, work(s) can also be shipped! Contact the business owner (Renee) for more information.
