After an exhausting day exploring with my hubs and the kiddos, its nice to relax and work on this guy. Do you recognize the skyline yet?

Blue Rose 4″ x 8″ watercolor on paper

Watercolor on paper.

I decided to start painting a little 6 x 8 flower every day, in honor of Earth Day coming up next month. Hopefully I can find time to stick with it!

“The Waiting” is an in progress work in which I am attempting to tackle the complex surface of what is called aquabord by Ampersand. I think that I am starting to figure it out and if it looks great sealed, it might be my go-to support from now on. No framing needed! Works out great for the artist and the buyer. 😉 Stay tuned for the finished product and if you feel so inclined, let me know what you think. Peace and love friends.

Here’s what’s on the artist table today! Hello young wood stork! What a cutie.

Trying out aquabord by ampersand. I’m digging it so far.

Pun intended! More to come…

This one was a lot of fun and I did some more experimenting with lost and found edges. Maybe next time I can get my “model” to sit a few more times. Getting this nature loving, ball of energy to sit for longer than a minute is a challenge but I would not trade her spirit for anything. I love you to the moon and back sweet girl!

I finished the portrait of my “little man” last night. I tried out some new ideas and techniques and ran into some successes and problems…of course. Mainly I am trying out new ways to “mask.” In the past, when I worked strictly with oil paint, I used making tape. With watercolor, I have used masking fluid. Here, I combined the two.
Overall, I’m happy with the results and I thought that I would share! Happy Sunday!
