Working With Watercolor

I just shipped out my latest commission (thank you Brooke!) This is a 16″ x 20″ watercolor on 300 lb paper. The subject portrayed is the Ponte Vecchio Bridge in Florence, Italy. The image below, is the painting propped up on my easel. Built in 1345, this bridge is the oldest of Florence’s six bridges. To finance the project, the design included small spaces for merchants to rent. Look at the cute little buildings! Working on this piece made me nostalgic for my last European adventure, in Spain, and the beautiful architectural designs that we saw along the way. I cannot believe that it was so long ago! How time flies when you are having fun. 😉
